Emergency Fund - June 2008
If you enjoyed this post,
I try to post my emergency fund updates on a monthly basis so I can keep myself on track with my target goals for my emergency fund. I previously tried to keep track of my emergency fund here but it became too complex to keep it up to date so I had to Keep It Simple and Smart.
| Date | Balance | % of Yearly Target | # of Months |
| May 31, 2008 | $2,148.85 | 71.63% | 1.4 |
Summary
I continued my steady habit of transferring $375 into my Emergency Fund each month. As a result, my account balance has risen to 71 percent of my 3K target goal for this year. This translate into almost one and a half month of emergency funds should I find myself without a primary income stream.
Seeing my balance increase along with the amount of time my emergency fund would provide me with without a primary income stream certainly gives me a peace of mind.

That’s a really great idea - an emergency fund is an absolute must. I have so many clients who talk about their budgeting and money situations and there is very rarely any mention of an emergency fund. Those that do, very often have a great deal of ease about the future, to the point where they don’t worry about it.
Cheers, Dan.
