Net Worth Mini-Statement May 2008
If you enjoyed this post,
A popular trend in the PF blogosphere for bloggers is to review their net worth around the 1st of each month. This year, I started in a different direction with a quarterly review because I was more interested in the bigger picture. I was excited about my results for the month of April I thought I would do a “mini-statement” like you see on your ATM printout.
In my last quarterly review, my net worth was at $24,679.
I am happy to say that in April, I smashed that $25,000 mark with a final tally of $27,348.

Good for you. Mine is still in the negative numbers…although I suppose it would be higher if I put in the value of the car.
I just left off the value of the car because I think that is too complicated right now.

It can be difficult to decide whether to include cars and stuff like that because some people see it as an asset and some people don’t. The bottom line is for the debtors, if they need to recoup their loans, they can sell your car in order to settle the balance.
I don’t know how they would value a car as an asset but I would have to imagine it is based on the blue book value. I suppose it is possible to deduct 20 percent of it’s present value to account for this present year’s value decrease. (Just to be conservative).

That’s a pretty sick return- do you have goals set-up for this year and next?

Thanks, Ron. At the moment, I do have a goal to reach 40K by the end of this year. As for next year, well, at the moment, I have a yet to be decided upon goal for increasing my net worth by 30% per year. So that means, for next year, it appears to by 52K. It is very well possible that I would smash that goal as well.
I will have a better idea of my goals after I move to York.
