POLL : How Is Rising Gas Prices Affecting Your Spending?
If you enjoyed this post,
I am curious to see whether you find yourself spending less, the same, or more because of rising gas prices. Some people find themselves spending more because of the latest gas prices, some people find themselves spending the same but cutting back on other areas such as eating out, etc… in order to afford gas prices while within the monthly budget.
Vote your answer here or if you find an answer not in the poll, leave a comment so I can better understand your situation.
Thank you,

I’ve been spending more on gas…but about the same in other areas. I’ve been making an effort to drive a lot less though.

I think I spend about the same amount of money. However, one thing I have changed is driving at lower speeds on the highway. I read somewhere that when you drive faster than 60-65 mph, you burn your gas at a much quicker rate.. so I have slowed down.. and am probably a lot safer now as well

We currently have a $200 / month budget for gas expenses for our 2 vehicles. We came in $17.31 under budget for May, so I am putting that amount away in a Gas fund for future expenses. I hope to keep our monthly gas budget @ or below $200. If it exceeds that amount, we will have to adjust appropriately. I plan on keeping updated information on my site in the coming months on this topic.

Passive - I agree on putting the money away for next month, sort of a gas snowball because this way, it can help offset future increases.
